ASSISTANT JANITORIAL MANAGER – DETROIT, MI

An Assistant Janitorial Manager, also known as an Assistant Janitorial Supervisor, is responsible for managing a team of cleaning staff at customer locations. This includes assigning cleaning tasks to workers based on their skills, inspecting the complete work to ensure compliance with specified standards, and adhering to customer and state or federal laws. Other duties involve coordinating schedules among workers, providing a list of cleaning supplies, and ensuring that cleaning equipment functions properly.

In this role, you maintain direct contact with customers to promptly address questions and resolve emerging issues. You also assist the cleaning team as needed, aid in recruiting and training new custodians, and ensure that tasks are completed as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in managing food service operations within an approved budget, ensuring the maximum value for dollars spent by the customer.
  • Ensures that the food provided to customers, guests, and operational associates is of superior quality.
  • Assists in purchasing and inventory management.
  • Maintains excellent relationships with associates, guests, and operational associates in other departments.

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in food service management.
  • Experience in restaurant, hotel, corporate dining, education, military, healthcare, or related food service operation.
  • Broad knowledge of food.
  • Financial experience and business acumen.
  • ServSafe certification is a priority.
  • Proficient in computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
