The meeting between Elon Musk and Prime Minister Modi, a Discussion on Tesla’s entry into India!

After a meeting between Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it has been decided that India will no longer have to wait long for Tesla’s “Make in India” entry. Elon Musk himself confirmed this. He had previously stated on Tuesday that he wants to invest in India “as soon as possible.” Prior to this, a source had told Reuters that Musk would provide information to Modi about his plans to establish an industrial base in India.

When asked about Tesla’s investment plans in India by journalists, Musk said that he believes Tesla will be in India soon. He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his support and hoped that they could make some announcements in the near future.

According to a video from Indian broadcaster ANI on Twitter, Musk said that he was a “Fan” of Modi and that the Prime Minister had visited a Tesla factory in California several years ago. Musk said that compared to any other large country in the world, India has more opportunities. He said that Modi genuinely cares about India because he is encouraging us to make significant investments in the country. We are just waiting for the right time.

Musk also mentioned that India has the potential to become a sustainable energy future, including solar energy, stationary batteries, and electric vehicles. As the CEO of SpaceX as well, Musk said that they could also bring Starlink satellite internet service to India.

Tesla employees visited India last month

Tesla officials visited India last month and discussed with Indian officials and ministers about establishing car and battery manufacturing bases in India. Musk had said last month that Tesla could choose a site for the new factory by the end of this year.

He also mentioned that India would be an interesting place for Tesla’s new factory. Amidst tensions between Washington and Beijing, American companies need to reduce their dependence on China as a manufacturing base. Due to high import duties and complicated regulations, Tesla put its plan to enter India on hold last year.

Musk explained himself as a “Fan of Mr. Modi”

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, also has expressed that the electric car manufacturer will establish a presence in India “as soon as humanly possible.”

This statement came after a meeting between Musk and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently on a state visit to the United States.

Indian Government Invites Elon Musk to Explore Investment Opportunities in Electric Mobility and Commercial Space Sectors. Musk stated that he is actively determining the optimal timing to realize this objective.

Modi’s encounter with Musk, who also happens to be the owner of Twitter, occurred shortly after Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey accused India of threatening to shut down the platform due to non-compliance with content removal orders.

The Indian government swiftly refuted Dorsey’s allegations, denouncing them as “an outright lie.”

Regarding this incident, Musk shared his perspective, emphasizing that Twitter is compelled to comply with local regulations or risk being shut down. “We will strive to uphold the maximum level of freedom of speech permitted by the law,” Musk affirmed.
